Mrs. Marilyn Jackson

Hello parents and students. Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Earl Nance Sr. Elementary School! I am excited to continue serving as your Professional School Counselor, where my role is to support the academic, career, and social-emotional growth of all students. With over twenty years of experience as a mental health professional and school counselor at the preschool, elementary, middle, and high school levels. I bring a deep commitment to nurturing each child's success. What I enjoy most about working at the elementary level is the natural curiosity scholars bring to learning and exploring the world around them, as well as the opportunity to provide early interventions that can have a lifelong positive early interventions that can have a lifelong positive impact. My counseling philosophy is student centered and solution-focused, ensuring every child has the guidance and support they need to thrive.

At Nance, we are proud of our accomplishments in Social and Emotional Learning. Our school has been recognized as both a Missouri State School of Character and a National School of Character (2024-2026)—a distinction held by only a few schools in St. Louis Public Schools. The recognition reflects the dedication of our students, families, and staff to building a welcoming, supportive environment that promotes personal growth, academic excellence, and strong character development. We live out the values of H.E.A.R.T.—Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect, and Tenacity everyday and, these principles guide the experiences and opportunities we provide for all of our scholars.

Parents, I am inviting you to join our Parent's Advisory Council to share thoughts and ideas about our school culture. Your voice is valuable, and together we can create meaningful experiences for our scholars. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with suggestions for activities, or if you ever need assistance or support.

Thank you for being such an important part of the Nance family. Remember, our kids are still "under construction" and, with our guidance, they will continue to grow stronger each day. Be safe, Be Strong, and Be Healthy!
