Degrees and Certifications:

BA in Comparative Cultures and Politics from Michigan State University #GoGreen

Mr. Daniel Martel

My name is Daniel Martel. This will be my fifth year teaching, but first at SLPS! I grew up in Byron Center, Michigan and graduated in 2018 from Michigan State University with a degree in Comparative Cultures and Politics. I'm currently getting my Masters in Public Administration at Arkansas State University.

I taught for the last four years at Pine Bluff High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I will be teaching World History and AP Government here at Clyde C. Miller Career Academy, which are my absolute favorite subjects! This will be my fifth year teaching both of these courses, though in the past I have also taught AP US History, Civics, and World Geography.

I absolutely love sports. I am a diehard Detroit sports fan (Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons, and even the Lions for some reason), although I'm certainly rooting for the Cardinals in the National League. I've played and/or coached soccer my entire life, so I'm definitely looking forward to St. Louis City FC's inaugural season next year!

I'm really looking forward to a great 2022-23 school year! Every day is unique and special, and we are going to make the most of every single one of them. Class will be challenging, but we'll have fun along the way and I'm confident that you'll leave room 245 feeling like you grew a lot as a student and as a person.

See you soon!

Daniel Martel
