Mr. Isyed Jorrin

Hello!

My name is Isyed Jorrin. I was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and grew up and lived there until the summer of 2010. After graduating from high school in 2001, I decided to become a foreign language teacher spending 5 years at Conrado Benitez Teacher’s Training College earning my Bachelor’s in English as a Foreign Language in 2008. I moved to America in 2010 and have made Saint Louis my home since 2012.
The career of education has truly shaped my professional life and now, along with my Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language which I earned in 2022, I can really drive my students even further to where they need to succeed and that is my hope and expectation.
Carnahan opened the door to me in 2020 and, ever since, I’ve been serving as the Spanish/Word Cultures & Heritage Teacher.  So, teaching, motivating, and inspiring my 6th, 7th, and 8th graders has been such a rewarding endeavor for me, because my students don’t just learn Spanish, they are exposed to the lifestyle, culture, celebration and social aspect of the Hispanic and whole world.
When I’m not teaching, I’m watching movies, going out with my family, or simply enjoying learning about the latest technology for cell phones and computers.

Let's have a fantastic year together of growth and diverse cultural richness!
