Ms. Ariana Martineau

Greetings!

I am Ms. Ariana Martineau, and I am overjoyed to be teaching 8th Grade Humanities. I have taught both ELA and History, but I always had to choose between the two. I am so ready to be able to finally teach the best of both worlds!

When I was in elementary school and they asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was usually a teacher. I officially decided that was going to be my course in life when I was in the 10th grade. I always loved school, and I loved helping my classmates out when they didn't understand something in class. I also come from a line of teachers; my mom was a high school Special Education teacher, and her mom (my grandma) was a 1st grade teacher.

I had phenomenal teachers when I was in grade school that helped me not only with my coursework, but with the tumultuous life that comes with growing up. When my favorite teacher passed away in the middle of my senior year, I became truly motivated to one day be a part of making school a safe place for kids, just like it was for me.

After high school, I attended Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I graduated with a double major in History and Education and a minor in English, receiving a Bachelor of Arts. I then moved to St Louis and got certified in Social Studies in Missouri for grades 5-12.

After working for two other school districts in the city of Saint Louis, I am so ready to work for Carnahan STEAM at SLPS. They say three is the magic number!!
