Meet Ms. Boettcher
Hello, I am the 4th grade teacher in room 209. This will be my first year teaching first 4th grade.I have worked at Buder Elementary for over 20 years first as a teacher's assistant and then as a teacher for the last 4 years.
In my years at Buder, I have observed that all children can learn and grow when they are provided with opportunities and support. I know that the students in this class have different learning needs and styles. To make my lessons more engaging and accessible for all students, I will use a variety of methods and materials. Students will be able to demonstrate what they are learning in different ways: in discussions, through writing, by drawing, and in group activities. I am not only focused on academics; I want my students to acquire the emotional and social skills that they need to be successful in school and beyond. To support social skill development during lessons, students will work together in pairs as well as in large and small groups.
When I’m not working, I like to read, bake, garden, and watch movies. I am very close to my family and enjoy spending time with my nephews. Additionally, I am big fan of the St. Louis Caridnals and try to go to a few games each season.
I am truly looking forward to working with your child. Thank you in advance for your help and support. I know that this is going to be a wonderful school year. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you can email me (marisa.boettcher@slps.org) or message me on Class Dojo. I am looking forward to working together to help your child meet his or her goals in 4th grade.
