I'm Mrs. Kavanaugh, your Library Media Specialist.
My office hours will be Mon-Thurs 9am-11:45am.
I may also be reached by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
I am available for help with any research projects you may be working on in your classes, as well as to help connect you with digital resources for literature and reading. You can find many resources I've already collected in the "Helpful Links" section.
I wanted to use this space to tell you a little more about myself.
I am a life-long learner and lover of research, and currently I have earned:
-Master of Library and Information Science from University of Missouri--Columbia
-Master of Education in Administration and Supervision with a concentration in Library Sciences from Middle Tennessee State University
-Bachelor of Science in English with a minor in Creative Writing from Austin Peay State University
-Missouri certification for K-12 Library Media Specialist
I was born in Kansas, but grew up in Missouri and graduated high school from Hazelwood West.
My husband served as a combat medic in the United States Army for over eight years, and in 2016 we finally came home to STL. Before I came to Compton-Drew, I was an assistant librarian at Clayton High School.
I am so excited to be here at Compton-Drew, and please never hesitate to e-mail me and ask for book suggestions or ask for help with research or resources!
When I'm not at school in the library, you can usually find me at home hanging out with my own five kids.
I also love board games, video games, cross-stitching, and most of all READING.
My husband and I love taking our kids out on hikes and being outdoors when we can.
