        Happy Spring, Sigel Families!

With Easter weekend behind us, Ramadan winding down, and MAP testing underway, we are officially in the downhill slide to the end of the school year! During our final months of the 21-22 academic year, we are remaining focused on two big goals:
        1. KYHFOOTY!
        2. Kindness!
What is KYHFOOTY (pronounced kuh-foo-tea)?? It's our funny little word to help us remember to Keep Your Hands Feet and Other Objects TYourself! Each morning during Scholar Start, our school-wide morning meeting, we provide examples of Kindness in action. These examples include taking good care of your space, giving compliments, being helpful, and exercising self-control in moments of frustration. Safety and kindness are keys to showing our SMARTS as Sigel Scholars!
In partnership with the St. Louis Department of Health and the CDC, SLPS and Sigel Elementary have shifted to "mask optional." We also allow families in the Main Office for scheduled in-person meetings. Additionally, vaccinated community volunteers are allowed in the building to support our Scholars. These steps towards pre-pandemic normalcy are exciting! At the same time, we remain vigilant and ready to pivot should COVID-19 infection rates rise again.
Sigel Families, please be sure to check ClassDojo regularly for school updates and to check your Scholars' progress. Should you ever have any questions or feedback, please contact the Main Office 314-771-0010, my district cell 314-379-7885, or email me at
Thank you, Sigel Families! Stay safe and be well!
