Welcome to Dewey

  • Welcome to Dewey International Studies School!

We are having a wonderful start to the 2021/2022 school year. At this time, Dewey is only offering in-person learning for the 21/22 school year.

We are very excited to see all of our wonderful students back in the building, and we are hopeful that we will be able to welcome back our parents and volunteers!

Dewey International Studies Elementary School is a unique school which integrates the study of world languages into the elementary curriculum.  Dewey offers the following world languages:  Japanese, German, French, and Spanish.  Students begin world language studies at preschool with a rotation through each of the languages.  Beginning in third grade, students specialize in a language of their choice.  Additionally, each classroom at Dewey adopts a country of study to continue the international theme into the regular classroom.  Teachers infuse the study of the adopted country into their standards-based curriculum.

Dewey offers a variety of resources including ELL, and Gifted.  Dewey also has numerous partnerships including University of Missouri-St. Louis, Washington University, Webster University, Junior Achievement, Books & Badges, HomeWorks!, and OASIS.  The PTO at Dewey is very active and involves our parents as partners at the school.
