    IMPORTANT LINKS!

    Hello!

As we prepare to be out of school for the next few weeks, I will be posting learning sites that may be of interest to you and your children.

If you are in need of breakfast and lunch the  The District, in partnership with the City and area charters, has developed a meal program (www.slps.org/meals) for families. Learning packets are available at meal distribution sites, and they are posted online at www.slps.org/keeponlearning.  If your family is in need of services, such as help with utilities, an internet connection for online learning, assistance for seniors, mental health care or free food for pets, visit www.slps.org/resources. New information is being added all the time.

Please visit my learning links page for more opportunities to learn at home. Please watch for updates for suggested activities on the calendar.

    Warmest regards,

    Ms. Heien

    Biography:

     Hello!

Welcome to my KG class. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I have worked in early childhood settings for 4 years and truly love this age group.  I previously worked as an attorney for 6 years. I am the mother to three wonderful children: Reagan, Charlotte, and Oliver. In my spare time I like to paint, read, and go the gym.

My goal this school year is to prepare your child for first grade and beyond. I believe that Kindergarten students learn best through exploration, repetition, and hands on learning.  I build a  learning community in my classroom where students build friendships with teachers and other students. Students are encourage to explore topics about which they are curious. I promote leadership, responsibility, and respect. I look forward to meeting your family and spending the next school year with your child.

    Best regards,
    Jennifer Heien
