Ms. Miro

Hello! My name is Ms. Miro and I am delighted to be teaching Spanish here at Dewey International Studies School! This is my 2nd year here at Dewey and I can't wait to get started with this school year.

I graduated from Saint Louis University in May 2016 and started working here at Dewey in August of 2016. I graduated with a bachelor's in Elementary Education with dual certification in Spanish. I performed my student teaching at the St. Louis Language Immersion School for Spanish and have taught Spanish privately. I come from a Spanish-speaking family and have spent extensive time in Latin America and the Caribbean. Latin culture is one of my favorite things to teach!

For grades prek-2nd we center around the units "What is Your Name?" then lead into "What Are You Doing?", "What is it?", "Where Are You Going?", and "When." For grades 3-5 we overlap these same concepts while also diving into units coming directly from our Spanish textbook, Realidades.

I am so excited and looking forward to working with your child this school year! Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or comments. I thank you in advance for your support!
