Welcome Letter 2020-2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Buder Elementary School. My name is Mrs. Brittanie Clement and I am excited to be your child’s 3rd grade teacher.
This school year we continue to find ways to safely and effectively educate children during the Covid-19 pandemic. Just like you are at home, the schools are monitoring the situation in our country and our city on a daily basis and doing our best to make informed decisions using that data and your feedback. Due to the ever changing environment we are seeing, flexibility on the parts of the teachers, parents/ guardians, and students is key. We are doing everything we can to successfully deliver learning in a way that most elementary students and teachers have never done before.
That being said, we know there will be some uncertainty and difficulty in becoming accustomed to the technology and virtual learning model. We are here to help. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email, classdojo, Teams, or phone. There will also be a technology support email and phone line that can be called anytime.
This year your child may find that they have more responsibility than in previous years. They are expected to be active participants in their own learning. Students will be expected to complete assignments, attend meetings, participate in discussions, and complete lessons daily and read each evening.
Parental involvement is also an important part of student success. I encourage you to ask your child questions about his/her day, check assignments nightly, encourage responsible school behavior, and keep in contact with me regarding any questions or concerns. Together, we will ensure your child has a successful third grade year!
