Welcome!! My name is Miss Zimmerman and I will be your child’s teacher this year, along with Mrs. Jones. I am very excited to have your child in 119, the Monster’s Inc. classroom! Please have your child wear the Monsters Inc. logo on the back of their shirt for the first 2 weeks of school. This will help ensure children are with the correct class during the day while he/she is learning our routines. It is a great idea to write your child's room number (119) and initials on all items. Here are a few other important notes.
Students will eat breakfast, lunch and snack at school. Breakfast is served between 8:40-9:00. After 9:00 the student will not be served breakfast unless their bus was late. The students take turns bringing snack for the class. More information will go home regarding snack. Drop off in the morning will take place in the parking lot. There is a drop off lane at the southwest corner of the parking lot.
Regarding pick up, your child needs to be signed out daily, NO ONE UNDER THE AGE 18 CAN PICK UP A STUDENT, and photo I.D. is required. These things are for your child’s safety. Pre-K Students may begin getting picked up in the classroom at 3:15. Pick up from 3:50-4:07 will take place in the Art room for P4 students and room 135 for P3 students. If you have questions regarding before or aftercare please see me as I am the coordinator.
Each child is responsible for the following items:
A book bag (big enough for a folder/ notebook)
Blanket for naptime (Will be sent home every Friday to get washed)
Change of clothes (shirt, pants, underwear, and socks) even though your child is potty trained
2 boxes of tissue
1 large bottle of hand sanitizer
2 containers of disinfectant wipes
Either 1 pack of Expo Dry Erase Markers (fun colors) or 1 pack of playdough
I have a notebook for each student. This notebook will be sent home daily with a monthly homework chart, monthly reading log, and a daily communication log.
The class will take two field trips throughout the year. If you are thinking of attending either field trip a parent volunteer packet must be filled out at least one month prior to the field trip. This is a must for P3 parents due to bus regulations. P3 students cannot ride the bus with the class, but can still participate in the field trip if a parent attends and provides transportation. Volunteer packets can be found on the school website or in the front office. If you have any questions please feel free to call! I look forward to a good year!
