    Teacher Message:

    Welcome to the Ranger Room!

My name is Mrs. Kovac and I will be your child’s teacher.  I hope this letter finds you healthy and safe.  I am excited to be back in the classroom teaching preschool this year! As we begin this school year unsure how it will look or what procedures we will need to follow, please feel confident that I will help you and your child adjust to the changes and communicate updates to you on a regular basis. Together, we will partner to help your child grow socially and academically.  Relationships and connections are large part of Stix ECC. We encourage you to be as engaged and involved as possible with your child’s education and their learning at school.  It is so important for us to work together to help your child meet a common goal.  By having positive connections between teachers and parents/guardians it has been shown to improve their academic achievement, social competencies, and emotional well-being.  It is also important that we have a good teacher/family relationship so that I can provide your child the best education possible. Preschool is the important first step in your child’s school career!

Our class will have many learning experiences together, but most importantly we will come together to support each other through a classroom community atmosphere and be Stix BEARS (Be respectful, Encourage others, Accept differences, Responsibility, and Share with others).   In our classroom, we will learn about the characteristics of friendship, school behavior expectations, literacy concepts, math skills, science topics, and explore nature inside and outside the classroom.

Please make sure your child’s bus notice is in their backpack.  If your child is not a bus rider, please make sure I am aware of how your child is getting home and that he/she is wearing the Ranger tag enclosed with this letter for the first week of school.  This will help us find your child upon their arrival at school.

Good communication is key to your child’s success and to a great parent/teacher relationship.  I will send home a daily communication folder that will have notifications/forms from school or notes from me.  I also use the app, ClassDojo, to communicate with you and inform you of what is going on inside our classroom and it is a great way for us to communicate on any concerns or questions.  If your phone number has changed since you completed your child’s magnet school application, please contact our secretary, Ms. Freeney at 533-0874, so she can update the system.  Communications about ‘Meet the Teacher’ and other family events will be announced through phone blasts.  I look forward to partnering with you to make this a fun, learning experience for your child!
