Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Carrie Kovac

Welcome to the Ranger Room!

My name is Carrie Kovac and I moved to St. Louis over 20 years ago from Indiana.  I love being outside and believe that we can learn a lot from getting outside and it's healthy!  I have been married for 26 years and we have five children- 4 sons and one daughter.  They keep me busy but I also find myself still looking  to learn more in the educational field and I am currently in a literacy cohort to gain my reading certification next year.   I have my Elementary Education Degree with a Certification in Early Childhood and a few years ago I achieved a Master's Degree in Early Childhood.   I have been teaching since 2010 and I love teaching preschool.  My favorite part is working with the families and seeing the progress my students gain when we work together- that's always exciting!

I like to garden and spend time with my family.  I am surrounded mostly by males in my house so I try to go along with what they like to do which is fishing.  If we can get away, then that's number one on our list to do.  We try to get to Florida every other year and of course, fishing poles come with us!

I have many animals at my house- maybe too many!  I have 2 dogs (Bob and Papi), 7 chickens (they are not named because they literally look alike, I cannot tell them apart), one Gecko lizard (Jessie), one rabbit (Cannoli), and currently housing 2 guinea pigs until school is able to be held back in the school building.

I am  looking forward to working with my students and families and we're going to have a great year!
