    January 11 – February 26

This date can change depending on how long testing takes.

    Hi parents,

It is that time of year again when ESOL students take the ACCESS test. This is a test that is given online every year.  It will help determine students’ current level of English Language Proficiency.  Students are assessed in the areas of Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.  We compare their scores to last year’s score to this years’ score to see how students are progressing from year to year.   The scores are also used to see what additional supports and services might be needed or if they are ready for monitored status (not receiving direct services of an ESOL teacher).

The process of testing all of our English Learners in all four areas takes a large amount of time.  The ESOL team will be working hard to complete this task as quickly as possible.  During this testing period, teachers will be not be working with students as consistently as usual.  As always, if you have any questions at all, please reach out to me – on Dojo, email, or phone call.
