Mrs. Emily Scott
Mrs. Scott is a Missouri native, raised in the St. Louis area. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education - Mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master of Arts - Education from Maryville University - St. Louis. She holds a Career Teaching Certificate in Mathematics for Grades 7 - 12 and a Career Teaching Certificate in Gifted Education for Grades K - 12. She has taught everything from 8th Grade Math through AP Calculus over the years. She is also a former SLPS Teacher of the Year (2003).
The 2023 - 2024 school year will be her 27th year with SLPS and McKinley! She hopes her enthusiasm and love of teaching mathematics sparks the interest of all her students.
Mrs. Scott's own three children have all attended (or are attending) McKinley Middle and High Schools. She is a proud advocate of public school and gifted education.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and making quilts.
