On behalf of the staff at McKinley Middle and High Schools, I am happy to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year! We are looking forward to a school year filled with learning, social growth, and positive social experiences. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our students need support from both the home and school. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We look forward to working together this year for the success of all McKinley students.

It is very important that you and your child(ren) are fully informed regarding standards related to appropriate behavior for a safe and productive school year. School handbooks and the SLPS “Parent Information Guide & Student Code of Conduct” will be distributed the first week of school. Please review these with your child at the beginning of the year and periodically throughout the year. Additionally, the McKinley web page is a great way to keep track of what is going on at our school. We will make efforts to keep the calendar updated on a regular basis. Find more information under the headlines at the bottom of our webpages.
Lastly, please consider joining our Parent Teacher Organization (MS: http://www.slps.org/domain/5532 and HS: http://www.slps.org/domain/7917) as our students can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s program and its operations.
Welcome (or welcome back) to the McKinley Goldbug Family. We thank you for your support and look forward to working together this school year!
