Family & Community Specialist
My name is Joshua Clinton Anderson. I am the Family and Community Specialist (FCS) at Gateway Math Science & Technology Middle School for the school year 2020-2021.
I want to share some things about myself and the job position that I hold. I am a native of St. Louis. I have a baccalaureate degree in Community Health Education from the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). I have been involved in the area of community engagement for several years. This is my 4th academic year serving as a Family and Community Specialist for St. Louis Public Schools – which I previously served at Peabody Elementary School and Shenandoah Elementary School. My core responsibility as the FCS is to help increase parental involvement through parent meetings, parent/family events, and simply communicating.
One of the significant factors determining the success of students regarding attendance, academics, and behavior is parental involvement. I will be working closely with our school administrative support team and general school staff in efforts to help increase parental involvement at our school and assist in other areas according to my capacity and availability.
I am excited to be at Gateway MST Middle School this school year. If you need assistance or simply want to connect, feel free to reach out to me.
Let’s have an outstanding school year together!
