Dr. DaMaris A. White

Greetings Gateway MST School Community,

It is with humility and exuberance that I welcome you to the 2023-2024 academic school year.  I am grateful to serve alongside the devoted administrative leadership team, faculty, staff, and the Gateway Math Science and Technology Middle School community.  Gateway was built on the foundation of love and is known for its dedication to greatness.  It is my goal to continue the tradition with precision, resilience, intentionality, diversity and excellence.  It is elating to have the opportunity to lead an amazing aggregation of middle school-age students while partnering with the parents and school community.

I am entering my twenty-fourth year of education.  My entire educational career has been in the St. Louis Public School District. I have served in many capacities as well as gained a wealth of knowledge in every role fulfilled. Children are the most beautiful gift on earth and I am committed to advocating for equality, resources, impeccable instruction and support for each student that walks through the door of Gateway Middle.

It is our desire to create a middle school atmosphere that engages our students in practices that allow our students to feel valued, respected, cared for, encouraged, and heard.  We will strive to maximize our students' learning experience by creating an environment that promotes high-quality academic expectations while supporting their social and emotional well-being.  As we embark upon  the 2023-2024  school year, we prod you to get excited as your students will enjoy learning in a safe environment.

I look forward to the collaboration of home-to-school and the work we will do together.  This year, I invite you to bask in the theme, “Game On, " - "I never lose, I either WIN or I LEARN" quoted by Mr. Nelson Mandela.  In closing, I urge all of my Junior Jaguars to strive to make each day count!

Yours in Education,

Dr. White
