Dr. Timothy Murrell

Bio of Timothy M. Murrell, Ed.D. 

 

Dr. Tim Murrell is the Program Director for Pathway Development, Student Engagement and Retention, in the Office of Ignatian Mission in Medicine at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. In his current role, he collaborates with school districts and colleges/universities, locally, regionally, and nationally, to provide students and career and pre-med advisors with information about the many opportunities available on the SLU School of Medicine campus. Additionally, he is an adjunct assistant professor in the School of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine, and oversees the Summer Scholars Program for high school students, the Prematriculation Program for incoming 1st year medical students, and the Summer Undergraduate Research Program—an initiative that he began in 2023. 

Prior to joining Saint Louis University, Dr. Murrell served as the inaugural principal of The Topeka Center for Advanced Learning and Careers (a high school with ten pathways dedicated to STEM careers) and as the Topeka Public School District’s Coordinator for Career and Technical Education (CTE). In addition, he served, for several years, as a CTE teacher and an administrator for the Saint Louis Public Schools.
