As the Academic Instructional Coach for Central Visual and Performing Arts High School, I work with teachers to ensure that high-quality teaching and learning is occurring in our school.  This is accomplished by engaging in informal, reflective coaching cycles with teachers, visiting classrooms to observe teachers using the AIC Focused Instructional Learning Walk framework, developing and delivering professional development and training related to teaching and learning, facilitate professional learning communities, assist teachers in analyzing student achievement data, collaborate with teachers to plan and implement student interventions, and assist the administration in activities for the benefit of the school. In my role, I also often work with students to improve their learning experience through tutoring, counseling and other supporting activities.

I began teaching mathematics at CVPA in the fall of 2005 after deciding to transition from my career at Saint Louis Community College.  During my first five years at CVPA, I taught Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus.  In 2010, I transferred to Gateway STEM High School as their AIC.  I was able to return back to CVPA in 2016, where I have been since.

In my down time, I enjoy working on my house (never ending projects), reading, fostering puppies and spending time with my family.
