Mr. Knolan Ryan Martz
Thank you for visiting, my name is Coach Martz. I grew up in Indiana and spent a lot of time in Florida and New York as well. Being in basketball crazed Indiana, I loved basketball. Upon completing my playing career, I entered into the beginnings of my basketball coaching and athletic training experiences. In the formative years of my career, I worked in various leadership capacities that spanned non-profit ministry, business development, and collegiate recruitment. As a result of these endeavors, I began a leadership foundation that combined the experiences and networks of ministerial, business, and athletic leaders in order to provide an environment of support both to one another, as well as developing leaders. Part of this effort was further directed through national collegiate scouting and mentorship of student athletes. This close interaction with young leaders and developed understanding of collegiate guidelines propelled me to re-connect with high school systems in a deeper way. As Saint Louis had become home for our family, I felt there was no entity closer to the heart of the city than that of our great school system. I have two children that are the center of my universe. I enjoy our family dinner time, our morning coffee, coaching their sports teams, spending time outdoors, time along the coastline, and Notre Dame football & Indiana Basketball. My passion for education is consistent with the words taken from J. Edgar Hoover, "If you want to change the world, change one generation." Serving in the district and at Roosvelt High School provides me another avenue to give back and be a part of a team that believes in our city's next generation. It is my hope to serve as a steady and consultative resource to this rising generation of leaders.
