Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Vitoux

Hi all, parent teacher conferences are coming up on October 17th and 19th from 3:15 to 6:30pm.  This year we will have conferences in the cafeteria of Roosevelt High school.  If you want to schedule a time to meet with me follow this link: calendly.com/benjaminvitoux/parent-teacher-conference  Also feel free to just drop on by between during the event hours!

Dear students, parents, and guardians,

First of all I want to welcome you all to our class! My name is Mr. Vitoux (pronounced V-toe) and I am looking forward working with you all this year. I will be teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry.  I would like to start out by telling you a little about myself. First of all I love to teach. It is such a great feeling when my I can see my students making progress and really engaging with the learning. My wife and I spent the last 5 years teaching English as a second language in China. It was a great experience but I'm excited to be close to family and back in STL!

This will be my first year teaching high school math, so I'll be learning from you at the same time you're learning from me. Now a bit about my educational background. I got my bachelors degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Aerospace Engineering. That's the study of how airplanes, rockets and spaceships fly. I'm currently working on my masters degree in teaching at Saint Louis University.

I also want everyone to feel comfortable in our classroom. I use the word “our” for a reason. It's not just my classroom, it belongs to all of us. It's our space for learning and it's our space to build a community. It is so important for high school students to build a solid foundation in math and together I know that we can do it.
