Mr. Vitoux
Dear students, parents, and guardians,
I want to welcome you all to our class! My name is Mr. Vitoux (pronounced V-toe) and I am looking forward to working with you all this year. I will be teaching Algebra 2 and College Algebra/Trig. I would like to start out by telling you a little about myself. First of all, I love to teach. It is such a great feeling when I can see my students making progress and really engaging with the learning. My wife and I spent the last 5 years teaching English as a second language in China. It was a great experience but I'm excited to be close to family and back in STL!
This will be my second year teaching math at Roosevelt, so I'm excited about hitting the ground running. Now a bit about my educational background. I got my bachelors degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Aerospace Engineering. That's the study of how airplanes, rockets and spaceships fly. I'm currently working on my masters degree in teaching at Saint Louis University.
I also want everyone to feel comfortable in our classroom. I use the word “our” for a reason. It's not just my classroom, it belongs to all of us. It's our space for learning and it's our space to build a community. It is so important for high school students to build a solid foundation in math and together, I know that we can do it.
