• Coach has been involved in education for 8 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Special Education from Southeast Missouri State University. He has a Master in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University.

     Coach Porter is in his 3rd year in SLPS. He previously served 5 years at 3 other schools in the Bootheel of Missouri. After his 5 years of coaching in the Bootheel, he made the move to St.Louis, working and coaching at Vashon 1 year, before getting the Head Football coaching job at Roosevelt. He had a successful high school career in football and track. His athletic success would eventually get him into college. At Southeast Missouri State University he was a two-sport college athlete. He played football and ran track at SEMO. He was a member of the 2008 Track & Field team's OVC Outdoor Champions participating in the 100m.

     Coach Porter believes the children we are educating today will impact the world we live in tomorrow. Every educated child brings value and contribution to the world and society they live in. The future of education lies in the connection between the community, parents, students, and educators. He pays extra attention to diversity involving students with special needs and in the area of cultural differences; this will help children to learn more about themselves and the people around them. It will help develop respect and appreciation for others.
