Dec. 12, 2024: Saint Louis Public Schools Announces New Measure Regarding District Credit Cards Following Assessment Management Report
St. Louis, MO – Saint Louis Public Schools (SLPS) is announcing a new measure regarding district credit cards effective Monday, December 16, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility, all district credit card holders are required to return their cards to the District Chief Financial Officer.

Dec. 10, 2024: Saint Louis Public Schools Releases Key Findings from Management Assessment
St. Louis, MO – Saint Louis Public Schools (SLPS) announced today the release of the executive summary, final report, and recommendations from an independent assessment conducted by Armanino LLP. Commissioned by the Board of Education on July 25, 2024, the assessment focuses on administrative pay, hiring practices, and credit card usage.

Nov. 21, 2024: The Board of Education of the City of St. Louis Responds to Comments from Former Superintendent
St. Louis, MO – The following is a statement from the Board of Education of the City of St. Louis:
“The Board of Education is disappointed by the many mischaracterizations being made by Dr. Scarlett. Through our legal counsel, the Board communicated with Dr. Scarlett’s attorney regarding the allegations against her in accordance with her employment contract. At Dr. Scarlett’s request and pursuant to her contract, the Board held a hearing regarding her dispute of the Board’s decision to terminate her contract. Dr. Scarlett and her attorney were provided with information and evidence in advance of the hearing. In the end, Dr. Scarlett chose not to attend and participate in her hearing. -

Aug. 30, 2024: SLPS Welcomes 21 International Teachers Through Cultural Exchange Program
(St. Louis, Missouri) — Saint Louis Public Schools (SLPS) is excited to announce the addition of 21 teachers from Ghana and the Philippines as part of an innovative cultural exchange program. These educators have been recruited to fill crucial teaching positions in Middle School Science, Middle School Math, and Elementary classrooms, addressing hard-to-fill vacancies amid a national teacher shortage. This program not only enhances our students' learning experience but also promotes cultural diversity within the district.

Oct. 15, 2024: St. Louis Board of Education Announces Update on the Employment of Dr. Keisha Scarlett
St. Louis, MO – On October 14, 2024, the Board of Education of the City of St. Louis held an evidentiary hearing on matters related to the employment of Dr. Keisha Scarlett. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Board of Education voted to terminate the employment of Dr. Scarlett for cause, effective immediately. By virtue of this vote, Dr. Scarlett is no longer an employee of Saint Louis Public Schools.
