History Museum Hosts Play About Sumner

In 1875, 10 years after the abolition of slavery, St. Louis had a strong group of African American activists and community leaders who were doing the hard work of civil rights. Now through August 1st, the Missouri History Museum is hosting a performan that focuses on their efforts, including the fight for Sumner High School, the first African American high school west of the
Mississippi.
