In order to more efficiently and effectively process employment applications, as of April 1, 2010 the Saint Louis Public Schools has a new, all electronic application process. In order to officially apply for a position with the Saint Louis Public School District, all applications must be completed directly through our application portal on the Human Resources page of our SLPS website. Paper applications will not be accepted. (i.e. via US Postal mail, via fax, or via hand delivery). Employment information will only be considered after submission through our application portal. Employment information acquired in any manner outside of the electronic process will not be processed or accepted.
You may check the status of your application or amend a previously submitted application at any time by visiting our application portal on the Human Resources page of our SLPS website. If additional information is needed or an interview is appropriate, a member of our staff will initiate contact with you directly. If no suitable opening exists at this time, your application will be retained in our active file for future consideration for a period of six months.

Requirements for a new substitute teacher:
· 60 College credit hours from an accredited college. (An original official college transcript must be submitted to the Human Resources Division.)
· A report from Division of Family Service: Request for Child Abuse/Neglect form.
All of the above must be submitted to the Human Resources Division before you will be considered for an interview. No interview will be conducted without all documents being received.
A FBI Fingerprint Background Check is also required. The fee is $44.80. Information will be provided during orientation.
Substitute positions can be terminated at any time.
Requirements for a substitute nurse:
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing
· Current Nursing License
Requirements for a substitute clerk:
· Some computer knowledge
· High School Diploma
