Mrs. Sarah Lange, RN BSN
Hello, I am one of School Nurses at Gateway STEM High School. I have been with Saint Louis Public Schools since 2015 and at Gateway since 2018. I was born in Denver, Colorado and moved to Saint Louis when I was 3 years old. I grew up in Kirkwood and Florissant, and graduated from Rosary High School in 1996. I am married and have two sons, both students of Saint Louis Public Schools. My older son graduated in 2016, and my younger son is in first grade this year.
I attended Saint Louis Community College at Forest Park and earned my Associate in Applied Science Nursing degree in 2008. I have 6 years of experience in the acute care hospital setting across the specialties of Colorectal & Urology Surgery, High Risk Cardiology, ER/Admit Holding, and Hospital Medicine. I also have experience in Behavioral Health Nursing and worked at the Saint Louis Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center as a Psychiatric Aide and Inpatient Adult Substance Abuse Treatment. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014, and transitioned to School Nursing in 2015.
I especially love working with high school students and having the opportunity to provide them with health services on a daily basis. I coordinate healthcare for the students with community partners such as CareSTL (formerly Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Health Centers), Gateway to Oral Health, and UMSL Vision. I am also actively involved in NEA Saint Louis and have served as an advocate for school nurses at both the state and national levels for MNEA and NEA. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, reading science fiction, fantasy, graphic novels, comics, and playing role-playing board and card games.
Check out the Resources tab on the left side of this page for the latest news in school health and connect with community partners for health services. Please feel free to stop by the Nurse's Office on the first floor weekdays between 6:55 AM and 2:22 PM and I will be more than happy to help you with vaccination compliance, sports physicals, 504 Plans, and much more.
