Mr. Moutasim Suliman
Welcome!
My name is Moutasim Suliman, and I am honored to serve this school year as an Interim Learning Associate (ILA), working closely with our Multilingual Learners (MLLs). My primary focus is to support students in developing their Academic English skills through the framework of the WIDA English Language Development Standards (WIDA-ELDs). These standards guide my instruction and ensure that our MLL scholars have the language tools they need to thrive across all content areas.
This year marks my fourth year serving as an ILA, and I bring with me over a decade of experience supporting language learners. Prior to this role, I worked for seven years as an ESOL Teacher Aide II, collaborating with a highly skilled and passionate ESOL team. During that time, I had the privilege of supporting countless students in their journey toward English language proficiency, and I actively contributed to the team's efforts to enhance instruction and student outcomes.
In addition to instructional support, I also assist with school-wide assessments and have experience proctoring End-of-Course (EOC) exams. This role allows me to contribute to maintaining a structured and equitable testing environment for all learners.
As a multilingual learner myself, I deeply understand the challenges and triumphs that come with acquiring a new language. This personal experience fuels my passion and empathy for the work I do, and I am committed to making the learning process engaging, meaningful, and accessible for every MLL scholar I support.
I am truly looking forward to a successful year of growth and achievement with my students. Together, we will work to build strong academic language skills that open doors to future opportunities.
Let’s make it a great year!
