About the teacher:
I spent 8 years serving our country in the United States Navy. As an ET (Electronics Technician) on board the submarine USS Ohio SSBN 726(B) I learned the field of electronics and maintained the ships interior communications, navigation and atmosphere control systems. After the Navy I enrolled at Vatterott College and learned the field of Residential, Commercial and Industrial Electrical with a special emphasis on Programmable Logic Controllers. I also worked at Vatterott College as a maintenance electrician and taught classes on a substitute basis. I came to work for SLPS in 2003 to teach the Electronics Engineering Program. Since that time our emphasis has shifted from a specific major of electronics to a broader emphasis on engineering as a whole. We use the nationally recognized Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Pathway To Engineering (PTE) curriculum to deliver classes that are either Dual Credit or Dual Enrollment to our students.
I am also a robotics coach for our school's FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics teams.
