Bio
Ganelle Claxton, a proud native of Saint Louis, has dedicated her life to education, mental wellness, and the holistic development of young people. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Harris-Stowe State University (2009), a Master of Arts in Teaching (2013), and a Master of Arts in School Counseling (2018) from Lindenwood University.
Most recently, she earned her School Psychological Examiner certification in 2024, continuing her commitment to supporting the academic and emotional growth of students. With over a decade of experience in education and counseling, Ms. Claxton has discovered her true passion for serving youth. Her roles as a school counselor and support staff member at a youth after-school program place her at the intersection of education and crisis support. In these roles, she brings empathy, insight, and creative problem-solving to create safe, supportive spaces for young people navigating trauma, life transitions, and complex personal decisions.
Known for her ability to build strong, trusting relationships with the diverse populations she serves, Ms. Claxton brings enthusiasm and purpose to every interaction. She consistently goes above and beyond her duties to advocate for students' needs, whether it’s offering emotional support, helping with career planning, or connecting families to community resources.
Her work extends beyond the school walls. Ms. Claxton actively participates in local initiatives focused on youth development, mental health awareness, and equitable education. She mentors young people both formally and informally, always striving to instill confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging in those she serves.
Ms. Claxton is also a devoted mother to her teenage son, who she considers her greatest blessing and daily inspiration. When she's not working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new places, and expressing herself through fashion.
Driven by purpose and grounded in compassion, Ms. Claxton is more than an educator. She is a role model, a change agent, and a powerful voice for youth empowerment.
