Ms. Jeannette Banks

My name is Ms. Jeannette Banks, and I am a teacher at Gateway STEM High School.  I teach SPED, Freshman Literature, World Literature and American Literature.  I have been in the St. Louis Publics schools for over 20 years.  I have a background in High School English, Regular Education, and Special Education in the high schools and elementary schools.  I come from a line of educators. My interest began in elementary school when I helped my aunt who was a second-grade teacher, in the same building.   After school I would go to her classroom, help her out and grade papers.  That was during the time when teachers could take the kids home after school, help them with their work, feed them and take them home later.  It was a community effort.

Teaching and learning are something that I grew up with and not just something that is done during certain months of the year.  I enjoy seeing when a student "gets it” and look forward to being a positive par your child’s educational experience.

I’m looking forward toward to engaging in a partnership with you to educate your student and help them grow into a person that can live a full and meaningful life no matter what their challenges are.

My email is  I will check my district e-mail throughout the day.

Looking forward to meeting parents and students.

Thank You.
