ST. LOUIS, MO, August, 2011 – With the high school football season fast approaching, St. Louis Public School District coaches received a full day of safety training on concussion awareness, conducted by Neuropsychologist Dr. Tom Martin of the University of Missouri – Columbia. Also included during the safety training will be CPR and DEFIB training for all Public High League (PHL) coaches.
The following topics were covered during the informational session:
- Concussion Signs and Symptoms
- Sideline Assessment
- Concussion Core
- Return to Play or Practice
- Concussion Prevention Law
- Additional Educational Opportunities, etc.
In addition, PHL coaches received CPR and Defibrillation training and certification.
