• ST. LOUIS, MO, August, 2011 – With the high school football season fast approaching, St. Louis Public School District coaches received a full day of safety training on concussion awareness, conducted by Neuropsychologist Dr. Tom Martin of the University of Missouri – Columbia.  Also included during the safety training will be CPR and DEFIB training for all Public High League (PHL) coaches. 

     

    The following topics were covered during the informational session:

     

    • Concussion Signs and Symptoms
    • Sideline Assessment
    • Concussion Core
    • Return to Play or Practice
    • Concussion Prevention Law
    • Additional Educational Opportunities, etc.

     

    In addition, PHL coaches received CPR and Defibrillation training and certification.
