• November 2011- Each month Dr. Kelvin Adams, Superintendent of Schools, meets with local clergy and faith leaders to talk about District program, policies, news, and events. For the November 2011 Pastors Breakfast, Dr. Adams talked about exceptional employees who have earned recognition amongst their peers as experts in their fields; provided an update on Judge Jimmie Edwards’ People Magazine Award; and the SLPS Teacher of the Year program currently underway.

     

    Local clergy and faith leaders also heard from Dr. Sheryl Davenport, Executive Director for Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education, who talked about the importance of the program and its impact on the development of children in early stages.  

     

    Next, Dr. Nicole Williams, Deputy Superintendent, was introduced as the District’s Chief Academic Officer.

     

    Before the meeting concluded, the District also publicly thanked Pastor Alexander, from Tyler Redeeming Christian Spiritualist Church No. 1, presented a check for $350.00 to go towards the purchasing of uniforms for students in need.
